A trip to grasslands around Saswad never fails to surprise me. I am settled in Pune since about 12 years but never ventured into these areas for nature and wild life photography. My birding was restricted to Bhigwan, Singhad Valley and Kavdi Pat near Pune, mostly waders.
To see and photograph grassland and desert based birds I used to travel to Gujrat and Rajasthan. The pandemic restricted our travel and this forced me to explore areas around Pune and was I pleased and surprised.
I never realized that our neighborhood was so rich in diverse avian species and other mammals. Amazing. Sharing few photos from my recent birding trip to Waghapur about 50 km from Pune.
Will come back with more. Please keep a watch on my blog posts.
Route to this birding hot spot.

Thanks Satish
Wonderful Prashant. Your commitment to photography especially wild life and birds is praiseworthy
Prashant, seeing your work has inspired my family and me to really start enjoying birding.
Your photographs are so clear that we find it easy to recognise birds in their natural habitat – instead of just saying, “ Oh, what a sight!” Or something generic like that.
Thank you. And request for more inspiration!
