Lockdown and heavy rains were getting on my nerves and then this fine morning it opened up after heavy shower. I quickly changed in shorts, picked up my Olympus OMD EM1 MK2 and rushed to the society garden to make few photos. I had the 60mm f 2.8 macro on so decided to make rain drops as my theme and here is what I got.

60 mm f 2.8 macro let’s you get quite close. The Ibis on OMD EM1 MK2 let’s you take hand held steady shots. No need to lug the cumbersome tripod.

As a rule, I use directional light so that I don’t cast my shadow on the subject. I also use a hand held LCD to light up the subject.

When you are shooting macro, you need to be careful of depth of field. Even slight movement can render the subject out of focus. After having focused I usually move forward and backward to adjust focus and click when focus is just right.

There are many patterns in nature, look for them to make your photos interesting.
